Description
Complete timber frame from a 1805 New Hampshire farm house. Beams are all hand hewn red pine with a beautiful red/brown color. The corner posts are gunstock posts which means they taper out wider where the beam sits on top of them. This is a better design than straight posts and more attractive. One of the corner posts is rotten. I have an other gunstock corner post from an other building that I will include to replace it and the color is similar and it is hand hewn as well. The rafter system was conventional 2X10's it's not included. The top beams that support the rafters are massive 9 X 14 X 32' beams with 8 X 8 overlays/collar ties. 4 of the 8 X 8 overlays are very rare as they 27' long with NO mortise holes which are virtually impossible the find of this age and quality, no rott. The other 3 overlays have minimal mortise holes. The floor joist system for the first floor is constructed of pitt sawed, not circular sawed 3 X 8's red pine/hard pine that is strong and has a nice color as well. The frame is mortise and tenon construction with oak pegs. Another desirable feature of this frame is that it has 8' high ceilings not the 7' that were typical for the era. The beams are all numbered so that it can be reassembled. We can also assemble this frame for you at your site for and extra fee. It is disassembled and ready to go. We also can provide excavation and concrete work to get things moving along. Delivery is not included in the price. Local Pickup or will ship if you prefer, contact me for a shipping quote. I'm at zip 03235, Phone 603.731.6225 or seanmx57@yahoo.com If you are interested in just beams not a complete frame I have beams from other frames available or may be willing to break this one up depending on what you need. Individual beam prices range from $3.50 to $7.00/ bdft depending on length and quality. I also have Chestnut beams of smaller sizes at this time and larger ones coming. Check my other auctions for antique flooring and paneling for other wood we have available. No PayPal, Cash, or wire transfer from your bank to mine.
